What happens if you remove the 0.0.0.0/0 route from the route table?

Removing the 0.0.0.0/0 route completely cuts off all internet communication for any resource attached to that route table.
Here is exactly what happens when you delete it:
• No Outbound Access: Your EC2 instances can no longer download software updates, connect to external APIs, or fetch third-party data.
• No Inbound Access: Even if an instance has a public IP address, external users will no longer be able to access your hosted websites or connect via SSH/RDP.
• VPC Traffic Stays Intact: The instances can still communicate with each other within the VPC. This is because the default local route (which handles internal VPC traffic) cannot be deleted and remains active.
Effectively, removing this route turns your subnet into a fully isolated private network.
