If we create a snapshot of a volume(vol1), while it is in-use and create a new volume(vol2) and attach it to a different instance in another AZ, is the data within the volume(vol1) copied to the snapshot or not?

We can absolutely creat a new volume 2 from the snapshot and attach it to an instance in different availability zone. If the volume is actively being written to during the snapshot, the snapshot might not be getting partially written files or corrupted data.
