Cloudwatch helps monitor the performance of an ASG by collecting metrics like cpu usage,network traffic,request count,status check failures. Helps optimize scaling : Triggers scaling actions(based on metrics, cloudwatch can scale out or scale in). Target tracking (automatically maintains a desired metric level). Alarms & alerts (sends alerts if something goes wrong or if usage is too high/low). Helps to adjust thresholds & instance types based on data.
