What is the difference between S3 Versioning and Object Lock?

The main difference is that S3 Versioning preserves older versions of a file when it is changed or deleted, while Object Lock physically prevents the current version from being deleted or modified at all.
Think of Versioning as a continuous backup history, and Object Lock as an un-erasable safety vault.
