What is the difference between a virtual machine and a physical machine?

Physical Machine: Hardware Dependence: A physical machine is a physical computer with its dedicated hardware components, including CPU, RAM, storage, and network interfaces. Single Operating System: A physical machine typically runs a single operating system directly on the hardware. The operating system has direct access to hardware resources. Virtual Machine: Virtualization Layer: A virtual machine is a software-based emulation of a physical computer, created and managed by a hypervisor (virtualization software). The hypervisor allows multiple VMs to run on a single physical machine. Multiple Operating Systems: Each virtual machine can run its operating system, independent of the host machine and other VMs. This enables the coexistence of different operating systems on the same physical hardware.
