Use aws lambda over ec2 when the workload is short-running & doesn't require server management. Lambda is better for tasks like file processing or scheduled jobs. Choose lambda- Task runs for less than 15 minutes Automatic scaling pay-per-use pricing server management is not needed Use EC2- When you need full control over the os Task is long running or runs constantly
