How does Azure Blob Storage differ from Azure File Storage?

Azure Blob Storage: Access Method: Blobs in Azure Blob Storage can be accessed via RESTful HTTP APIs, making it ideal for applications that require object storage access patterns. It is commonly used for scenarios like media streaming, backups, and content delivery.

Storage Model: Blob Storage organizes data into containers, and each container can hold an unlimited number of blobs. Blobs can be block blobs, append blobs, or page blobs, each serving specific storage needs.

Azure File Storage:

Access Method: Azure File Storage uses the traditional hierarchical file system structure with directories and files. VMs can mount the file share as network drives using the SMB protocol, enabling file sharing among VMs.

Storage Model: File Storage uses standard file shares, and the data is organized in directories and files. This makes it compatible with existing applications that rely on the file system.
