how does a hypervisor allow multiple Virtual Machines to run on a single physical server?

A hypervisor allow multiple Virtual Machines (VMs) to run on a single physical server by abstracting physical hardware and dynamically dividing it into isolated virtual machines.
It abstracts hardware, allocates resources, translates requests and isolates the virtual machines strictly.
