How can you combine Capacity Reservations with Reserved Instances to achieve both availability and cost optimization?

Use Capacity Reservations for availability and Reserved Instances for cost savings.

Reserve capacity for critical workloads, then use Reserved Instances to get discounted pricing for the expected long-term usage.

This gives you guaranteed capacity + lower costs.
