Steps to make sure you are backing up EC2 data 1. Make sure that delete policy of ebs volume is disabled while termination of EC2 2. Format your EBS volume with the required file system type 3. Mount your EBS volume with a specific location like home/user/ and make sure whatever data you want to be backed up is under this directory
