No, On-demand Instances can never be terminated by AWS like Spot instances. As I said previously, On-Demand instances (ODI) cannot be interrupted by AWS, no matter what, since you are paying the required amount without any discount. Spot instances can be interrupted because, if Amazon gives you a discount and you only have to pay that much for the whole time, then they will be making a loss compared to you using ODI. That is why, Spot instances are terminated. Think of it like this, ODI is a rented house that you live in, where you pay the rent monthly to the landlord, where you live for a longer time than a few months. Whereas Spot instances are like a hotel room you took during a vacation to some place. You don't use it for a long time.

Instances launched under the Free Tier typically run as On-Demand Instances. The Free Tier instances will run as long as you stay within the Free Tier limits and don't manually terminate them. If you exceed the Free Tier limits, you will be charged at the standard On-Demand rates.
