Explain the difference between SMB and NFS?

Server Message Block(SMB) is a file sharing protocol mostly used in windows based systems. It allows users to access files & other resources on a network. Network File System(NFS) is mainly used in linux based systems. It allows systems to share folders & files as if they were on the same computer.
