Internet Gateways are used to allow connection to and from the internet and the VPC. It allows inbound and outgoing traffic. NAT Gateways are used to allow private subnets to access the internet or other AWS services, but prevents connections from internet. It allows only outgoing traffic. Egress-only Gateways are used for IPv6 connections and allow private subnets to connect to internet and other AWS services. It allows only outgoing traffic similar to NAT Gateways.
