Handles data persistence by using snapshots, which capture the full dataset at a specific point in time. These snapshots can be created manually / automatically & are stored in amazon s3. They allow users to restore a redis cluster in case of failure or data loss. Snapshots are the primary method for backup & recovery in ElastiCache for Redis. Since snapshot are taken periodically, some recent data may be lost unless replication & HA are also configured to enhance durability
