Can we directly attach a snapshot to an EC2 instance?

No, we cannot directly attach a snapshot to an EC2 instance.
An EBS snapshot is merely a backup stored in Amazon S3, meaning it is not live, functional block device. To access its data, you must convert the snapshot into an EBS volume first, and then attach to your EC2 instance.
