While there are workarounds to potentially mount EFS on Windows, it's not officially supported, and AWS explicitly states that EFS volumes are not supported on Windows EC2 instances. The primary reason for this is that EFS uses the Network File System (NFS) protocol, which is more commonly used with Linux.
