If the security group in AWS does not allow the SSH port (port 22), you will be unable to connect to the EC2 instance via SSH, resulting in a timeout or "Connection refused" error. This restriction prevents remote management and administrative tasks on the instance. To regain access, you must modify the security group to allow inbound traffic on port 22.
