For the root volume, the minimum size is 30 GB, while the maximum allowed size is 2 TB, which is used to hold the operating system. In contrast, additional volumes can be sized up to 16 TB, where data can be stored.

Many EBS volume types support up to 16 TiB. However, for gp3, io1, and io2 volumes, this limit can extend up to 64 TiB when used with Nitro-based EC2 instances.
