If a snapshot of the volume is available within the same region, the EBS volume can be restored by creating a volume from snapshot, however, the data stored after the last snapshot will be lost.

If a user mistakenly deletes a critical EBS volume, the quickest way to restore the lost data is to use a previously created EBS snapshot of that volume. Without snapshot it is difficult to recover the data.
