Amazon EFS supports encryption for both data at rest & data in transit. For encryption at rest, EFS uses AWS KMS to manage encryption keys. When you write data, EFS encrypts it using a data key, which is itself protected by KMS. For encryption in transit, EFS uses TLS to secure data moving between EC2 instances & the file system. This ensures files are protected both when stored & when transferred.
